Today I proceeded to an Athenian Police Station in order to sue a scamp who attempted to physically attack me, defamed and vilified me for 10 min inside a passenger bus ....I ended up under detention inside the Ambelokipi police station for an hour and half (!!!!), being prohibited access to any other floors of the police station, except the ground floor, not being allowed to leave and being forced to sign my arrest statement( I refused),despite my pleas that the Greek policemen were directly violating 2 laws and many articles of the Greek Criminal Code!!!......
The police only got alarmed when they heard me talking to the legal aid representative of Athens Law Bar while reporting my condition.
Despite them having received a fax with the relevant law provisions from the Athens Law Bar asking them to implement the law and let me walk free, the police claimed that a week before they had arrested another lawyer who went through the same arrest procedure without any complain and they 'advised' me to keep quiet!!! (who on the heck is this colleague ??????)
Later, the police claimed that they had rung the Attorney General and they only left me free, when I demanded to be prosecuted directly to the Attorney General!
Meanwhile,inside the Police Station,the policemen were smoking while this is prohibited with a fine and imprisonment by the Law...

I immediately,reported the incident verbally on the phone to the Director of the Athens Law Bar who explained to them that they had violated the laws while he told me off for being feisty and gutsy as I had said many times to the Head of the police station that I'll sue them for breaching the laws!!!!
I have written this incident in English with an aim to explain THE GREEK CORRUPTED AND INCOMPETENT REALITY to my foreigners friends, as well as to my Greek friends and others.
I won't give up,I'll officially and immediately place a report to the President of the Law Bar and to anyone who requests one.
Last but not least: I state publicly and I warn that if there is a NEXT time of illegal violations of the Greek police, I'll sue them and report them to the International bodies and Ombudsman.
